Business at the Port of Baltimore showed a healthy increase in the first six months of 1994.
If the trend continues, this year could be the best since 1988, officials said.
During the first half of the year, general cargo moving through the port increased 18.4 percent to 3.1 million short tons, almost 500,000 short tons more than for the same period in 1993.
In the second quarter, general cargo jumped 16.6 percent above the same period last year. This marked the eighth consecutive quarter general cargo has risen at the port's public terminals. by CNB
