CARY M. BURRIS

Cary Ashlin Morris Burris, 55, of the 4200 block of Meadow Ridge Drive, died on Aug. 13, 1994 in her home.

She was born in Leaksville-Spray, N.C. A graduate of Agnes Scott College, Mrs. Burris was an English teacher at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg from 1960-65, and a recent graduate student at Old Dominion University. She was a member of Green Acres Presbyterian Church and of several community organizations.

The daughter of the late F. Hubert Morris, she is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Burris, and by two sons, John Mason Burris and Thomas F. Burris III of Chesapeake and Portsmouth respectively. She is also survived by her mother, Ruth W. Morris of Richmond and sisters, Ruth M. Ferrell of Wilmington, Del., and Mary Frances Morris of Greenville, N.C. An aunt, Anne Pleasants White of Charlotte, also survives.

A service conducted by the Dr. Walter C. Hunting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16th at 11 a.m. at Green Acres Presbyterian Church. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home in Churchland to receive friends on Monday, Aug. 15, 1994, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens immediately after the service.

The family asks that any contributions might be made to a favorite charity, to the American Cancer Society or to UNICEF.
