Mr. Albert J. ``Dutch'' Taylor Sr., 78, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 1994.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Newport News and had been a lifelong resident of the Peninsula. He had retired from N.A.S.A., Langley Research Center, in 1975 after 33 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He was also a charter member of the church and was an usher. He was a graduate of Newport News High School and the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School Class of 1939. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth King Taylor; two daughters, Theresa T. Outlaw of Newport News and Mary T. McDougal of Florence, S.C.; a son, Albert J. Taylor Jr. of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church by the Rev. Michael D. McCarron, pastor. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 7:30 p.m. Peninsula Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
