Kathleen Johnson Mondello of Duck, N.C., died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 13, 1994, at her residence. She was a native of Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., and a homemaker. Mrs. Mondello was a member of Duck Woods Golf and Country Club and participated in numerous community activities. She was the daughter of the late Edward Johnson and Mrs. Rosina Hill Johnson and the wife of Joseph P. Mondello.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Mondello is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Mondello Shelhorse of Long Island, N.Y.; one sister, Mary Fischer of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Edward Johnson of Sherburne, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Joseph Shelhorse of Alexandria, Va., Dennis James Shelhorse of New York City and Jill Shelhorse of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 15, 1994, at 2 p.m. in the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church by Father Terrence Collins. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
