The recent report regarding bulimia struck home (Daily Break, Aug. 5). I read the article by Paige Forbes and could not help but feel her pain. I am happy that eating disorders are no longer being discussed just in counseling offices.
Bulimia is not about food but about the desire of bulimics to control their lives in an environment where their mothers or fathers control them. The disease does not occur overnight.
The article was realistic. I hope it caught the attention of at least one person who will find the courage to say, ``I need help.''
