PHILEMON GUY MITCHELL

Philemon Guy Mitchell, 83, of the 200 block of Lloyd St., a retired fireman, died Aug. 15, 1994, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Base. He was a member of the Scrub Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel Bell Mitchell; a sister, Annie Yates of Windsor, N.C.; a brother, Julian W. Mitchell of Sanford, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ahoskie Cemetery by the Rev. Thomas Lamm. The family will receive friends at the home, 210 Lloyd St., Ahoskie. Garrett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ahoskie Rescue Squad.
