Matthew Avery Wilder Jr., 64, of the 9300 block of Belgrave Ave., died Aug. 12, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Wilder was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and was retired on disability from the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Norfolk Business College and T.V. repairman for Nu-Home. He was a member of DAV Post (NU)4809.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine R. Wilder; a stepson, Roland O. Goodwin of Norfolk; two sisters, Eutha M. Wilder and Alma Wilder; and two brothers, Freeman Wilder and James Wilder.
Services will be private. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DAV (NU)4809.
