The City Council turned over half ownership of the municipal airport to Pasquotank County Monday night.
The move will not change operations of the airport, which are overseen by an appointed board that is responsible to both governments.
Despite joint city-county control, the deed to the airport has rested solely in the city's hands for several years.
Officials have suggested that the discrepancy has created problems in getting outside funds for airport improvements such as hangars to house airplanes.
``In view of the fact that Pasquotank County is not included on the deed and they are expected to be included in the support, I would recommend that the city include them in the deed,'' City Manager Ralph Clark wrote in a request to the council. by CNB
