Charles W. ``Buddy'' Meeks, 57, of the 1600 block of Indiana Ave., died Aug. 16, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Meeks was a former Virginia Beach police officer and was retired from the Virginia Beach School System. He was born in Portsmouth, but was a resident of Virginia Beach all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Whitley Meeks; a daughter, Diana M. Hall; a son, Jeffery D. Meeks; his stepmother, Martha C. Meeks; three sisters, Mary M. Fruit, Catherine M. Dozier and Dorothy M. McElligott; and a brother, Edgar C. Meeks, all of Virginia Beach; and two granddaughters, Ashley B. Hall and Amanda L. Hall.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Tommy Taylor and the Rev. Edward S. Martin Jr. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Following the graveside service the family will be at 240 Roselynn Lane, Virginia Beach, Va. 23454.
