DISTRICT A

Grand larceny: 3200 block Canterbury Crest Lane, Aug. 6, a man reported that someone removed $600 worth of assorted Snap-On tools from his vehicle.

Grand larceny: 1600 block Tautog Road, Aug. 8, someone removed assorted household goods and jewelry valued at $2,685. Aug. 8.

Vandalism: 2100 block Kings Fork Road, Aug. 8, a woman reported that someone damaged her mailbox.

Petty larceny: 4500 block Wise St., Aug. 9, a man said that someone removed two expired state license plates from his vehicle.

DISTRICT B

Residential breaking and entering: 5700 block Godwin Blvd., Aug. 6, someone entered through an unlocked front door and removed two GTE cordless phones valued at $160 and a microwave valued at $220.

Habitual offender - Felony: Portsmouth Boulevard and Welch Parkway, Aug. 7, a man was charged with driving under the influence. A license check revealed he was also a habitual offender.

Threat to burn: 3400 block Waters Ave., Aug. 8, a suspect threatened to burn down his brother's house.

Vandalism: 2200 block Kings Fork Road, Aug. 8, a man said that someone damaged his mailbox.

Vandalism: 2100 block Kings Fork Road, Aug. 8, a man reported that someone damaged his mailbox.

Hit and run (property damage): 3100 block Nansemond Parkway, Aug. 9, a juvenile, driving a 1984 Buick, missed a driveway, struck a ditch and damaged a yard.

DISTRICT C

Assault and battery: 700 block North Main St., Aug. 6, a woman reported that a suspect struck her in the lower back while the two were working at a convenience store.

Vandalism: 800 block Ashley Ave., Aug. 6, someone damaged a car's windshield.

Hit and run: 1900 block North Main St., Aug. 7, a man reported that someone struck his vehicle causing damage to the front bumper and cracking the windshield.

Hit and run property damage: 300 block Bute St., Aug. 8, a vehicle struck a curb and was abandoned after the accident.

Hit and run: North Broad Street and Second Avenue, Aug. 8, someone struck a parked vehicle.

Residential breaking and entering: 400 block South Wellons St., Aug. 8, a man reported that someone pried open his front door, entered his home and removed a 20-inch color TV.

Grand larceny: 1400 block North Main St., Aug. 9, someone took a vending machine worth $350.

Strong-arm robbery: 700 block Second Ave., Aug. 10, a man said a suspect approached him and asked him if he wanted to buy some rock. The victim said no. The suspect then jerked a $10 bill out of the victim's hand.

DISTRICT D

Residential breaking and entering: 200 block North Capitol St., Aug. 6, a suspect entered a home armed with a handgun.

Shooting into occupied dwelling: 200 block North Capitol St., Aug. 6, a woman said that a suspect fired two shots into her home narrowly missing a sleeping 2-year-old child.

Larceny: 500 block Cullodan St., Aug. 6, a woman found her water meter missing and a constant flow of water from the water line on the side of her home.

Residential breaking and entering: 200 block York St., Aug. 6, someone pried open a rear door.

Grand larceny auto: 1000 block Forest Oak Lane, Aug. 6, a woman said her car is missing.

Unlawful concealment: 600 block Carolina Road, Aug. 6, a suspect concealed two packages of steaks.

Grand larceny: 1100 block Portsmouth Blvd., Aug. 7, someone took a vacuum cleaner valued at $900.

Felonious assault: 400 block Spruce St., Aug. 7, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend came into her home, argued with her, then struck her in the head twice with a short shotgun.

Grand larceny auto: 1000 block Blythewood Lane, Aug. 8, a man reported that someone took his vehicle from his driveway.

Recovered motor vehicle: 300 block East Washington St., Aug. 8, a suspect was found in the driver's seat of a stolen vehicle.

Embezzlement: 600 block Carolina Road, Aug. 8, a woman said she discovered money missing and records not matching actual funds on hand.

Vandalism: 400 block Wekivia Ave., Aug. 8, a man said that someone broke six windows and removed several electrical receptacles. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

Grand larceny: 100 block South 6th St., Aug. 8, a man said that his girlfriend moved out of the house taking 12 bottles of insulin valued at $21 apiece, a 22 caliber chrome plated pistol and $100 worth of frozen food. The suspect also spray painted the base of the house.

Possession of cocaine: 300 block East Washington St., Aug. 8, a substance believed to be crack cocaine was founding during a search.

Residential breaking and entering: 100 block Woodrow Ave., Aug. 8, a woman said someone pried open her front window and removed a 12-inch gold chain, a gold ring with four birthstones and a microwave oven valued at $800.

Petty larceny: 600 block Carolina Road, Aug. 8, someone took a package of lunch meat valued at $2.

Felonious assault: 1100 block Nansemond Parkway, Aug. 8, a juvenile placed a piece of gravel in a BB gun and shot another juvenile in the chest, leaving a small bump.

Vandalism: 2100 block Kings Fork Road, Aug. 8, someone damaged a mailbox.

Petty larceny: 900 block Davis Blvd., Aug. 8, a woman reported that a juvenile removed her nephew's Nintendo Gameboy from a basketball court without permission.

Felonious assault: 300 block Pinner St., Aug. 8, a suspect struck a man with a glass ashtray.

Shed break-in: 1200 block Blythewood Lane, Aug. 8, a man said that someone entered his shed and removed a small McCullough chainsaw and a weedeater.

Possession of marijuana: Factory Street and Warwick, Aug. 8, a substance believed to be marijuana was found during a search.

Assault and battery: 400 block Holland Road, Aug. 9, a man hit a woman with his fist.

Petty larceny: 100 block Pinner St., Aug. 9, someone pumped $13.05 worth of gas without paying.

Forgery/uttering: 400 block Hollywood Ave., Aug. 10, a man said that Commerce Bank notified him that 15 checks were signed and passed by a suspect with the victim's signature which he denies signing.

Malicious wounding: 1000 block East Washington St., Aug. 10, a woman cut a man with a sharp edged instrument.

Possession of a concealed weapon: Beech and East Washington streets, Aug. 10, a suspect was found in possession of a Taurus .357 caliber handgun hidden from observation. The suspect gave false information to the police officer about his name.

Residential breaking and entering: 400 block East Constance Road, Aug. 10, someone cut a hole in a back porch screen, unlatched a door and removed $600 cash.

DISTRICT E

Vandalism: 6700 block Peanut Drive, Aug. 6, someone shot out a glass door.

Grand larceny: 6100 block Old Myrtle Road, Aug. 7, a man reported that someone entered his back yard and took a female pit dog valued at $100.

Grand larceny: 1500 block Holland Road, Aug. 9, someone took a Daily Press vending machine valued at $350.

DISTRICT F

Assault and battery: 2300 block Copeland Road, Aug. 6, a man struck his son twice in the face.

Hit and run (personal injury): 2600 block Holland Road, Aug. 7, a car was struck from behind.

Injured person: 200 block Forest Glen Drive, Aug. 7, while preparing an explosive demonstration, utilizing a detonation card and a blasting cap, a man did not properly close the circuit. When he walked away the open line completed the circuit, causing an explosion. The man and a woman were hit in the back with shrapnel.

Petty larceny: 3200 block Holland Road, Aug. 10, a woman reported that two checks made out to her were delivered to her former home. When she went to recover the items she could only locate the stub to one check. by CNB
