Woodrow Smith ``Pete'' Councill, 78, of the 300 block of Cedar St., died Aug. 17, 1994, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Franklin, Va., he was retired from the Sheffield Lumber Company and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Louise Councill; one stepdaughter, Eva Parker of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, William E. Liverman of Greenville, S.C., and Ray Liverman of Chesapeake; four sisters, Willena White and Julia Sledge, both of Richmond, Paige Perry of Virginia Beach, and Nelda Hayes of Suffolk; one brother, Thomas Councill of Gates, N.C.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
