Essie Belle White, 78, a retired clerk, died Aug. 17, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mrs. White was born in Duplin County, N.C., and was the widow of George T. White Sr. She was retired from J.C. Penney after 18 years and was a member of Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George T. ``Tommy'' White Jr. and Janie White of South Mills, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Theresa M. White and Heather L. White, both of South Mills.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Beck. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
