The Department of Veterans Affairs has established a toll-free help-line for veterans who were exposed to radiation during military service.
Counselors will give information on VA benefits and services, medical research related to radiation exposure, legislation and help in filing or reopening disability compensation claims.
The number is 1-800-827-0365. It is staffed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. After hours and on weekends, callers can leave a recorded message.
