Clyde D. Hathaway, 64, a captain in the Virginia Beach Police Department, died Aug. 18, 1994, at his residence.
Mr. Hathaway was born in Bayshore, N.Y. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Police (NU)8, Police Association of Virginia and Sandbridge Beach Civic League.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret F. Hathaway; five daughters, Susan H. Seavy of Mesa, Ariz., Anne H. Zimba of Edenton, N.C., Meg Mountcastle of Triangle, Va., Barbara J. Hathaway of Virginia Beach and Jennifer K. Hathaway of Evington, Va.; a son, Clyde D. Hathaway III of Weems, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Ascension Catholic Church by the Rev. Dwight E. Shrader. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, for visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
