Dora Eley Bynum, 83, of the 300 block of Washington St., died Aug. 17, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Bynum was a native of Southampton County. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Aurelius Eley, and her husband, Robert Bynum Sr. She was a retired domestic worker and a member of White Oak Spring Baptist Church and the Senior Choir.
Survivors include four sons, Edward Bynum, Robert Bynum Jr. and William Bynum, all of Franklin, and Raymond Bynum of Miami; seven daughters, Willie Mae Council and Shirley Murphy, both of Franklin, Cynthia Artis and Jacqueline Picot, both of Courtland, Catherine Boyd, Betty Bynum and Annie Crawford, all of Passaic, N.J.; a sister, Julia Cobb of Franklin; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in White Oak Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Lee. Burial will be in Moore's Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
