JAMES E. JORDAN

CWO3 James E. Jordan, USCG (Ret.), passed away at Sabine Medical Center in Many, La. on Thursday, July 14, 1994.

Mr. Jordan, a native of Norfolk, was born on March 20, 1931. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from March 1947 until Feb. 1972 with duty stations in Virginia, Alaska, Hawaii and Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jordan of Zwolle; a daughter, Dorothy Canty, and husband, Clay, of Morgan City, La.; three sons, James E. Jordan, and wife, Mary, of Crestview, Fla., Garland K. Jordan, and wife, Robbin, of Graceville, Fla., and Brian W. Jordan, and wife, Cindy, of Barhamsville, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Steven Hebert II and Emily Coates of Morgan City, La., Silas, Jamie, Christopher and Bethany Jordan of Crestview, Fla., Andy and Paige Jordan of Graceville, Fla., Matthew and Phillip Jordan of Barhamsville, Va. Also surviving are his mother, Louise Hughes of Chesapeake; a brother, Toy L. Jordan Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Dorothy Peebles of Charlotte, N.C. and Phyllis Kemp of Chesapeake.

He donated his body to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, La. A memorial service was held July 17 at Calvary Baptist Church, Many, La.
