ACTIVE IN AIDS FIGHT, VIRGINIA SENATE RACE

ABOVE: Bill Cosby and Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, widow of Arthur Ashe, announce details of the third annual Arthur Ashe AIDS Tennis Challenge on Wednesday in New York. The pro-celebrity event benefits a foundation that has raised more than $4 million for more than 30 AIDS organizations.

Cosby and Quincy Jones are getting involved in one of the nastiest fights of this election year, the Virginia Senate race. Independent Senate candidate L. Douglas Wilder has lined up the two entertainers for a benefit concert in late September, Wilder's campaign manager said Thursday. The event is scheduled to be held somewhere in Richmond - perhaps the Richmond Coliseum. The date and ticket prices have not been set. ILLUSTRATION: Color photo
