Robert Lynn Smith, 88, of the 9600 block of Capeview Ave., a retired pressman, died Aug. 18, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in Dalton, Ga. He retired from The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, was a member of Episcopal Church of the Ascension and International Pressmans Union Local (NU)24 and lifetime member of American Federation of Musicians Local (NU)125. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madeline McDermin Smith.
Survivors include a son, William Douglas Smith of Norfolk; two brothers, Richard S. Smith of Dillon, S.C., and Leonard R. Smith of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Episcopal Church of the Ascension by the Rev. David Lasalle. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Donations may be made to Episcopal Church of the Ascension or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
