The Elizabeth River ferry is the shortest way to Harbor Park.
Since it opened last year, thousands of folks have taken the boat to Tides baseball games. The brief boat ride eliminates traffic and parking headaches. It also adds another dimension to the fun.
Norfolk's failure to build a suitable boat dock at the stadium is mind-boggling in view of the total expenditure on Harbor Park. But TRT, which operates the ferry, still has a responsibility to the ferry-loving public.
Representatives on the TRT authority from this side of the river should push for construction of a decent boat dock for the ferry before the opening of the 1995 baseball season. by CNB
