James Robert Coggins, Sr., 43, of the 5600 block of Darby Close, a pipe fitter, died Aug. 20, 1994, in his residence.
He was a native of Norfolk County and employed at SMS Mechanical Contractors, Virginia Beach. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Coggins; two daughters, Loretta Coggins and Cynthia Coggins, both of Portsmouth; two sons, Michael D. Coggins of Portsmouth and James R. Coggins, Jr. of Chesapeake; his parents, Charles F. Coggins and Versie Strickland Coggins, both of Portsmouth; a nephew, Michael J. Manguba of Portsmouth; two sisters; three brothers; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Norman March. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
