Rayburn Lee Nails Jr. of the 3000 block of Shawn Court died at his residence Friday, Aug. 19. Mr. Nails was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as a machinist mate. He was a 1979 graduate of Holly Palm High School in Holly Palm, Ala.
He is Survived by his mother, Jung H. Nails of Va. Beach and his father, Rayburn L. Nails Sr. of Cullman, Ala.; Two sons, Rayburn L. Nails III and Brian Scott Nails both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Nancy Goodwin of Virginia Beach, and Barbara Sparks of Holly Palm, Ala.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Twiford Funeral Home, Norfolk, with the Rev. William P. Watkins Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery Wednesday at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the residence. Twiford Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
