Robert Clifford Newnam, 64, of Georgetown Road, died Aug. 20, 1994, in the hospice unit of the V.A. Hospital.
Mr. Newnam was born in Greensboro, N.C. He was an Elk with the Bronx Chapter of the Elks and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was retired.
Survivors include his wife, Lourie Newnam; a daughter, Constance Newnam of Stadler, New York City, N.Y.; a sister, Elsie L. Meyers of Lakeland, Fla.; four nephews, James Newnam of Norfolk, Thomas Newnam and Keith E. Newnam, both of Chesapeake, and Michael A. Newnam of Newcastle, Va.; and four nieces, Linda Smith of Glasgow, Va., Paula Waterfield of Virginia Beach, Katherine Casey and Donna L. Newnam of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by Chaplains Warren Landis and Margaret Lampman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
