HOWARD K. BROWN SR.

Howard Kirby Brown Sr., 78, of the 2900 block of East Point Drive, a retired ordnanceman, died Aug. 21, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was a native of Portsmouth, a member of Lee Memorial Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans and an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Naval Ammunition Depot and was the son of the late James William Brown Sr. and Amanda Rebecca Pasco Brown.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Virginia Stroh of Hollywood, Kans.; a son, Howard K. Brown Jr., of Chesapeake; a sister, Edna Woodyard of Falls Church, Va.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. Ray O. Jones. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Lee Memorial Baptist Church.
