THOMAS F. HOPKINS

Thomas F. Hopkins, 74, of 29 Chowan Garden Apartments, Edenton, N.C. Died Saturday, August 20, 1994 in the Veterans Hospital in Hampton, Va. He was born in Columbia, N.C. to the Late J. Fleetwood Hopkins and the late Mary Gautier Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins retired in 1982 as the Manager of Albemarle Motor Company in Edenton, N.C. He was a member of the Edenton Baptist Church. Past President of the Chowan Golf and Country Club. In 1949 he was a recipient of the Jaycee Distinguished Service Award and the Past President of the Plymouth Jaycees in 1949. A Mason, and a Veteran of WW II in the Army.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Nooney Hopkins of Edenton, N.C. , three sons; Stephen J. Hopkins and daughter-in-law Shelby O. Hopkins of Renton, Wash., Larry (Bubba) Thomas Hopkins of Elizabeth City, N.C., Kendrick D. Hopkins and daughter-in-law Carole W. Hopkins of Newport News, Va., five grandsons; Eric and his wife, Krista Hopkins, of North Palm Beach, Fla., Steve Hopkins of Renton, Wash., Keith and Taylor Hopkins of Jupiter, Fla., and Kenny Hopkins of Newport News, Va., one granddaughter, Leeann Hopkins of Newport News, Va., A mother, Clara Mae Hopkins of Columbia, N.C. two sisters; Lula Mae Sanahan of Baltimore, Md. and Minnie Lou McGowan of Columbia, N.C.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williford-Barham Funeral Home in Edenton, N.C. with Dr. Kenneth Word officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. With a private burial in Beaver Hill Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
