Police discovered a dead man's body Sunday in the bushes of the 300 block of Ashley Drive.

Residents in the area had complained of a strong odor.

The victim was identified as Michael J. Hatchell, 20, of the 1800 block of Kingston Ave.

Police declined to release information about the cause of death pending an examination by the State Medical Examiner's office. The case is being handled as a homicide, however.

The body was found about 11 a.m., and is believed to have been in the bushes several days, police said.
