WOMAN DUMPED FROM CAR

A woman who was found dumped on the side of Interstate 464 near South Main Street suffered massive head injuries and was in critical condition Sunday night.

State Police said they do not know who the woman is or what the circumstances are surrounding the incident. She lapsed into unconsciousness shortly after she was found.

She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The woman was dumped along the southbound lanes of the interstate about 3 a.m., police said. Witnesses said she may have been dumped from a red 1990s-model Nissan.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the woman, who is believed to be in her early 30s, should call state police at 424-6800.
