Richfood Holdings Inc. said it has completed the acquisition of Rotelle Inc., a major frozen food distributor. The purchase will put Richfood at close to $1.6 billion in annual sales. Richfood is the largest wholesale food distributor in the mid-Atlantic and the fifth-largest publicly held wholesale food distributor in the country. Rotelle, based outside Philadelphia, sells frozen food, ice cream and frozen bakery products to about 550 retail grocery stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
