Robert Thomas Gates, ET2, died Aug. 20, 1994.
Mr. Gates, born on July 23, 1971, and graduated from Coral Springs High School in Coral Springs, Fla., in May 1989. He joined the Navy in November 1989 and was a nuclear power plant electronic technician on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt.
Survivors include his parents, Robert L. Gates Jr. and Bonnie Lou (Duck) Gates of Coral Springs, Fla.; a sister, Natalie Lynn Gates; grandparents, Robert L. and Idabelle Gates, and Lawton and Nancey Duck, all of Ohio.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Higgins Funeral Home, 4303 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44515 with the Rev. Marvin Strom officiating. Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, Ohio. The calling hours will be at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
