Melvin Carl Jenkins of the 200 block of E. 27th St., a retired checker, died Aug. 22, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Hertford, N.C., and was retired from Home Laundry Cleaners. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Gracie Jenkins; four sisters, Vernice A. Smith, Pauline Johnson, Brenda Jenkins, all of Norfolk, and Joyce Green of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Walter Jenkins Jr. of Baltimore and Malichi Jenkins of Norfolk. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jenkins.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. His remains rest at Hale Funeral Home, Norfolk.
