Joseph L. Boone Sr., 66, of the 400 block of Tradd St., retired owner of Boone's Paint Shop, died Aug. 22, 1994, in Obici Hospital.
Mr. Boone was born in Nansemond County, son of the late William Henry Boone and Hilda Eley Boone. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Suffolk.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Boone; a daughter, Yvonne B. Green of Suffolk; four sons, William E. Boone of Norfolk, Lemual Boone of Atlanta, Steven L. Boone of Korea and Vincent M. Boone of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an aunt, Kathleen King of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Lakeview Baptist Church by the Rev. John Jones. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
