JESSIE M. NICHOLS

Jessie Mae Nichols, 81, of the 800 block of Gardner St., died Aug. 24, 1994, at Obici Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness.

A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Barrett and Elizabeth Beale Barrett and was the wife of the late Edward Nichols. She had retired from St. Regis Paper Co. after 25 years. She was a member of East End Church of God, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Missionary Band and Senior Choir.

Survivors include one brother, Tommie Barrett of Franklin; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in East End Church of God by Bishop S.D. Willis. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. The family will assemble at noon at Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home for the procession to the church.
