HAYWOOD BOONE

Haywood Boone of the 2800 block of Estella Drive, a retired rigger, died Aug. 24, 1994, in Chesapeake.

Mr. Boone was born in Warren County, N.C., and retired in 1969 from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 25 years of service. He was a member of First Trinity AME Church in Chesapeake, where he was a member of the Steward and Trustee boards. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge, Ebenezer (NU)66.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Flemings Boone; three daughters, Ruth L. McDaniel, Rose Johnson and Anne Boone, all of Chesapeake; a son, Myron Towe of Norfolk; two sisters, Queenie Ferebee and Lucy Mae Boone of Norfolk; two brothers, Percy Boone of Brockton, Mass., and Jessie Boone of New York City; 26 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in First Trinity AME Church by the Rev. R. Daughtry. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
