Milburn Joseph Dobbs, 76, of the 1200 block of Cherokee Road, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 1994, at the Veterans Hospital in Hampton.
He was the son of the late Curtis Monroe and Sarah Stanford Dobbs. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, a retired car salesman for Sun Motor Company and a member of the Portsmouth Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Estelle Midgette Dobbs.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Setser of Portsmouth and Donna Evers of Carrsville; a sister, Eula Dobbs of Rome, Ga.; three grandsons, Joseph Escott Davis of Portsmouth, Ryan Bradley Evers and Joseph Winfred Evers of Carrsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Portsmouth Assembly of God with the Rev. Homer Peterson officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the Gray's Family Cemetery, Buxton, N.C., with the Rev. Larry Stitt officiating. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home of Cheryl Setser, 15 Chippewa Trail, Portsmouth. Twiford Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
