A story Tuesday gave incomplete information about tours of the
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Although the National Park Service
operates a visitor center at the lighthouse from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily, free tours are offered only from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Corolla Republican John Schrote is running against Democrat Bill
Owens for the North Carolina House. A story Wednesday incorrectly
said the Rev. Charles L. Foster was Owens' opponent. Foster lost to
Owens in the Democratic primary in May.
In the same story, Foster - who was named president of the
National Association Council of Community Churches of America and
Elsewhere Inc. - recommended that a convention be held in the
Bahamas in the near future, not next year, as the story said.
