3 WOMEN, YOUNG GIRL ARE BOUND WITH TAPE AS SAFE IS STOLEN

Three women and a young girl were bound with duct tape by two men who stole a safe from their home Friday, police said.

None of the victims was hurt.

At about noon, police said, the two suspects knocked at the door of a home in the 2800 block of Sunrise Ave. and asked to use a telephone. Once inside, however, one of the men pulled out a shotgun that apparently had been concealed and put it to Diane M. Manley's head.

He then forced Manley upstairs at gunpoint where she and the other occupants - ages 46, 26, 21 and 3 - were herded into a bedroom. All were tied up with duct tape on their mouths, arms and ankles.

The men then busied themselves removing a safe holding family valuables. The two men are believed to have fled in a dark blue four-wheel-drive sport vehicle.

Manley later broke free and called police.
