LOIS THEBARGE DECKER BOBBY

Lois Thebarge Decker Bobby, 63, of Norfolk, a former operating room scrub nurse at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital during the 1960s, went to her final peace, Aug.25, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Bobby was the daughter of the late Louis and Lorraine Callahan Thebarge, and former wife of the late Monroe Joseph Decker. She was a native of New York City and later moved to Richmond, Va., where she lived at St. Joseph's Villa. She lived most of her life in Norfolk. She was a Roman Catholic and a former volunteer with St. Pius X Catholic Church and School. Mrs. Bobby graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1949 and attended Old Dominion University.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Decker Green of Virginia Beach and Lisa N. Bobby of Norfolk; two sons, Brittan J. Bobby of West Virginia and Edmond L. Bobby of Norfolk; a sister, Marilyn T. Zoby of Virginia Beach; a half sister, Jean Harrison of Virginia Beach; three half brothers, Louis, Charles and Michael Thebarge, all of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Alexander and Jacob Joel Green and Morgan, Victoria and Zacharia Bobby.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church. The Rosary will be said privately by the family at a later date. Mrs. Bobby made the ultimate gift of life to Eastern Virginia Medical School by donating her earthly body for medical research. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads.
