Walter Thomas Shipley Jr., 63, of the first block of Bolling Road, died Aug. 26, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Shipley, a native of Norfolk, was retired as a concrete construction foreman with Potter Construction Co., Norfolk. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Western Branch.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca J. Shipley; three daughters, Bonnie Bower of Portsmouth, Linda Shipley of Chicago and Sharon Shipley of Portsmouth; two sons, David Shipley of Norfolk and W. Thomas Shipley III of Portsmouth; a sister, Ollie Issac of Richmond, Ind.; a half-sister, Mary DeGroft of Smithfield, Va.; stepmother, Marguerite Shipley of Smithfield; a beloved aunt, Sarah Brabble of Maple, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11a.m. Monday in Fellowship Baptist Church by the Rev. Lynn Hardaway. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
