PROSTATE CANCER: SOME QUESTIONS AND THEIR ANSWERS

All died recently of prostate cancer, the leading cancer among men. They join 35,000 other men who have died of the disease in the past year, according to the American Cancer Society.

The disease has steadily increased in recent years. In 1988, it caused 24,175 deaths. In 1991, 32,000 died. The American Cancer Society estimates that 165,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1993.

Today, prostate cancer is the leading cancer among men. Others who have prostate cancer or who have been treated for it include Senate Minority Leader Robert Dole, Robert Goulet, Michael Milken, Sen.
