Mary F. Rountree, 85, died Aug. 27, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Rountree was born in Colerain, N.C. She had resided with her daughter in Virginia Beach for the last eight years and had been a first-grade teacher in Sunbury. She was the widow of F. Hayslett Rountree and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Sunbury.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lewis Griffin and John R. Griffin of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Elma Williford of Portsmouth and Kate Russell of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Mever Lee and J. Roger Griffin, both of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cross Cemetery by the Rev. Ron Parr and the Rev. Jerry Holcomb. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family will greet friends following the service at the social hall of Beulah Baptist Church.
