Bertha Lee Streater, 61, of the 200 block of Beechdale Road, died Aug. 28, 1994, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. Streater was born in Goldsboro, N.C. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the Senior Choir, Pastor's Aid, Happy Am I, and Hospitality Club.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Streater Sr.; four daughters, Reginia Montague and Idell Gatling, both of Chesapeake and Renee Streater and Annette Rountree, both of Portsmouth; three sons, Thomas E. Streater Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Carl B. Streater of Hampton and Dennis L. Streater of Portsmouth; a sister, Louise Moore of Portsmouth; a brother, Joseph Battle of Richmond; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Hope Baptist Church, Gust Lane, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Sidney Foster. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
