Edward Tillitt Owens, died Aug. 30, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Owens was the son of the late Hezikar and Betty Tillitt Owens. He was retired from the Texaco Corp. with 38 years of service and was a member of First Christian Church of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Owens; four stepdaughters, Bonnie Andrews of Fredericksburg, Diane Courtney and Wanda Coleman, both of Virginia Beach, and Kay Donnelly of Chesapeake; two sisters, Tillie Christie of Norfolk and Audrey Bunch of Grandy, N.C.; two brothers, Capt. Bruce Owens of Virginia Beach and Wilbur Owens of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Powells Point Christian Church Cemetery, Harbinger, N.C., by the Rev. Jack Austin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake.
