MARVA MARSH

Marva Marsh of the 900 block of Amer Drive, died Aug. 27, 1994.

Mrs. Marsh, a native of Chesapeake, was born Feb. 11, 1948. She obtained a bachelor of science degree at Norfolk State University and a master's degree at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. She taught at Truitt Junior High School and Great Bridge Junior High School, where she headed the Biology Department. She also served on the National Science Teacher's Association Convention in Washington, D.C.

She was employed at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C., where she held the position of rates analyst for the Division of Producer Rates and Certificates. In addition, she worked as a developmental specialist. Mrs. Marsh supervised training and development for engineering and related disciplines for FERC's Training and Development Branch. Her tenure at FERC was approximately 15 years as a GS-12.

Mrs. Marsh attended the Full Gospel AME Zion Church, ministered by the Rev. John Cherry, pastor, in Temple Hills, Md.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her devoted husband, Julius Marsh of Fort Washington, Md.; mother and father, Ernest and Josephine Wilson of Norfolk; three brothers, Roy, Ernest and Arthur Wilson of Norfolk; four sisters, Selma E. Ricks of Chesapeake, Loretta Beard and Patsy Johnson of Virginia Beach and Angler Wilson Walker of Norfolk; mother-in-law, Augusta B. Marsh of Mobile, Ala.; brother-in-law, Alphonso H. Marsh of Westminster, Colo.; sister-in-law, Angelina S. Marsh of Westminster, Colo.; four nieces, Carshena Holladay of Chesapeake, Crystal and Monica Johnson of Baltimore and Jessica Wilson of Norfolk; five nephews, Eddie Smith of Norfolk, Maynard and Marcus Beard of Virginia Beach, Alphonso V. Marsh of Westminster, Colo. and Preston Marsh of Washington, D.C.; one great-niece, Misty Suzanne Holladay of Chesapeake; and a host of relatives and friends.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, by Dr. Zack Pippins. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
