Several World War II-vintage airplanes, including a German
Heinkel-111 twin-engine bomber of the type that bombed London during
the Battle of Britain, are on display at the Hampton Roads Airport
on U.S. 58 in Chesapeake this week. The exhibition was arranged by
the Confederate Air Force, a non-profit flying museum dedicated to
keeping the old planes in flying condition. The public can view the
aircraft from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day through Monday. An
admission fee of $3 per person will be charged to cover fuel and
insurance. Children under 12 will be admitted free. Among the other
planes on exhibit are the Old Dominion Squadron's own Lockheed C-60
Lodestar transport, a UC-78 Bobcat and a B-25 Mitchell bomber like
the one like Jimmy Doolittle flew over Japan.
