Elijah Turner, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, died Aug. 31, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. Turner was born in Duma, Ark., and had retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years. He was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include his wife, Troy L. Turner; a daughter, Shelia E. Carter; two sons, Elijah A. Turner and Larry K. Turner; three sisters, Zenobia Church, Modean Jasper and Lunis Stovall; a brother, Marcell Turner; five grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Willie J. Carter.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Little Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Stanley D. Shepherd Sr. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at 208 Knells Ridge Drive, Chesapeake. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
