Helen Marie Vertz Crittenden, 68, of the 9000 block of Eclipse Drive, died Sept. 1, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.
A native of Elmont, Va., she was the daughter of the late Adam and Cecil Sumner Vertz. Mrs. Crittenden was a member of Mount Zion Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin F. Crittenden Sr.; three daughters, Rose Marie Hicks of Richmond, Evelyn White of Portsmouth, June Fugate of Loretto, Tenn.; a son, Edwin F. Crittenden Jr. of Onley; two sisters, Hazel Blowe and Anita Bowman, both of Birmingham, Ala.; four brothers, Frank Vertz of Norfolk, Bobby Vertz of Chesapeake, Charlie Vertz of Richmond and Johnny Vertz of Portsmouth; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Damon Wyatt. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
