Ashton Wingate Thurman of Lawrenceville departed this life on Aug. 30, 1994, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He is survived by a brother, Henry L. Thurman Jr.; two sisters, Avis Watts and Audrey Thurman; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul's Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the chapel with interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Negro College Fund. Brown's Funeral Service, Lawrenceville, is in charge of arrangements.
