Daniel Christopher ``Danny'' Lake Sr., 42, of 305 53rd St., died Sept. 3, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital. Danny was a loving father, husband, son, brother and a good friend to all. Danny was the owner of K and D Lake Co. general contractors, which he and his father ran for many years.
Danny was an avid surfer and loved the ocean. He was born in Coronado, Calif. He was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He was a member of Tidewater Builders Association. He was a Realtor with Sedel & Associates.
Survivors include his wife, Betsy S. Lake; a son, Daniel C. Lake Jr. of Virginia Beach; his mother, Dorothy V. Lake of Las Vegas, N.M.; his father, Capt. Kenneth B. Lake, U.S.N. Ret., of Las Vegas, N.M.; five sisters, Mary Lou Waits of Lakeside, Calif., Laurie Lake of Virginia Beach, Catherine Lake of Tonawanda, N.Y., Andrea L. Mohammadi of Louisville, Ky., and Christa Lake of Portland, Ore.; three brothers John Lake of Park City, Utah, and Ben Lake and Tom Lake, both of Virginia Beach; his mother-in-law, Alice M. Ueblacher of Norfolk; his father-in-law, James T. Stevens of Chapel Hill, N.C. and his grandmother-in-law, Gilma Cacacers of Norfolk.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1994, at 1 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, by Father Raymond McIntype. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, Virginia Beach. A Christian wake will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
