Kathleen White Woodard, 69, of W. Main St., died Sept. 5, 1994, in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.
Mrs. Woodard was born in Conway and was the daughter of R. Jennings White and Kitty White. She had retired from a rewarding teaching career, having taught 33 years in the Northampton County Schools. Mrs. Woodard was a past president of the Northampton County Chapter of the North Carolina Education Association and a graduate of Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (UNC-G).
Mrs. Woodard was a member of the Conway Baptist Church and the Conway Baptist Woman's Missionary Union.
Mrs. Woodard is survived by her husband, G.E. ``Lefty'' Woodard; two sons, Gilbert E. Woodard Jr. of Urbanna, Va. and Gary W. Woodard of Reidsville, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Catherine Woodard and Laura Woodard of Urbanna and James T. Woodard and Elizabeth H. Woodard of Reidsville. She is also survived by her brother, R. Jennings White Jr. of Conway; and two sisters, Monte W. Jenkins of Pendleton, N.C. and Betty Lou Taylor of Conway.
The family will receive visitors in the home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Conway Baptist Church by the Rev. James Hester. Interment will follow in Conway Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Oncology Hospice of Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va., or the American Cancer Society. Bridgers Funeral Home, Conway, is handling arrangements.
