Joseph Lombardy Jr., 73, of the 1000 block of Apple Valley Court, died Sept. 4, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Lombardy was born in New Jersey. He had retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a master gunnery sergeant. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Womack Lombardy; two daughters, Marcie Plagg and Mary Lombardy, both of Macon, Ga.; a son, Joseph Lombardy III of St. Cloud, Fla.; two brothers, Jay Lombardy of Miami and Nick Lombardy of Newark, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a niece, Carol Hahn of Clifton, N.J.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. today in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Father Lou Ruoff and Father Joseph Slattery. Family and friends are invited to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday for prayers, with a procession to follow to Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
