Mildred Edge Griffith, 84, of the 3200 block of Lark St., a retired comptroller for a Wall Street brokerage, died Sept. 5, 1994, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Griffith was a native of Macon, Ga. She was the widow of Thomas O'Dell Griffith. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, both in Jersey City, N.J.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Griffith of Virginia Beach and Walter Griffith of Big Flats, N.Y.; two sisters, Joan C. Hollis of New York and Jacqueline F. Chittenden of Florida; one brother, Mark Chittenden of New Jersey; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Bill Kincaid. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. There will be a brief graveside service conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, N.J., by the Rev. Walter Griffith. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling local arrangements, and Opacity Funeral Home is handling arrangements in New Jersey.
